Installation

Install in a few steps.

Nthbe for Android is downloaded from this website, so Android asks once before installing it.

1

Download the APK

Open this page on your Android device and tap Download APK. If the browser warns about the file type, choose Download anyway.

2

Allow the installation

Open the downloaded file. If Android blocks apps from this source, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source for your browser or Files app, then go back.

3

Install and open Nthbe

Nthbe installs as a new app. It does not replace or remove the older LadderVPN app.

4

Agree and sign in

Choose Agree & Continue on the privacy notice, then sign in with your Nthbe account or create one.

5

Allow the VPN connection

Choose a server and tap Start, then tap OK on the Android connection request. Only one VPN can run at a time, so stop other VPN apps first.

6

Keep Nthbe current

Nthbe checks for signed updates. The first time, allow Nthbe under Install unknown apps, then confirm the update. Your sign-in and settings are kept.

Platform details

Before you install.

Device requirements, how to check the download and what to do if Android refuses the package.

Requirements

Android 8.0 or later on a 64-bit phone or tablet. Private Mesh needs Android 12 or later. Turn on notifications for Nthbe to see the connection status.

Verify the download

Install only files downloaded from www.nthbe.com or download.nthbe.com. The SHA-256 of the current APK is shown above; compare it before installing if your device asks.

If installation fails

App not installed or a package conflict means an earlier Nthbe test build is installed: uninstall Nthbe (not LadderVPN), install again and sign in. A parsing error means the device runs a version older than Android 8.0 or supports 32-bit apps only.
